Thames Mead

Thamesmead is a really up and coming area. It benefits from being close to the river, being relatively modern and of course from it’s proximity to Crossrail.  Furthermore the government has been investing in The Thames gateway for years.

Crossrail is due to open in 2019. It’s one stop away from Plumstead (local station) and will cut journey times into London by up to 50%. Journey times are: circa 10 minutes to Canary Wharf, 15 minutes to Liverpool Street and 25 minutes to Bond Street. It will be direct to Heathrow. By December 2019 it will connect all the way to Reading.

The neighbouring area of Woolwich to the West is transforming with new residential buildings going up throughout.  A new mixed use area The Spray Street development is being developed, a new Civic centre has been built and new shopping is coming into Royal Arsenal.   Development is also happening to the East in Abbey Wood and Erith.
